Meet Numi - Part II
Imagine: you’re in a dark club. Lights are flashing. The music is loud. Bodies are moving rhythmically to the beat. You can sense a pulse in the crowd. You try to look around, but all you can see are dancing silhouettes. No faces. No expressions. And with that realization, you ease into it and start to listen to the music. You safely close your eyes and you feel something inside of you softly taking over. You allow yourself to be carried away. There grows a deep connection between your body, the music and your movements. Finally, a much needed sense of freedom rises to the surface. A sense of freedom that gives you permission to completely be in the moment. No worries about tomorrow, no emotional baggage from the past. A freedom from the dreaded mundane life you’re living, trying to fit in in society. A social construct you’re unable to grasp. Freedom from the opinions that are thrown to your head, day in and day out. Freedom from your inner demons, the ones who try to sabotage your every move and keep you from growing into your full potential.
Through the darkness of the club, you find an inner light. Through the deafening sounds of the music, you find an inner silence. Through the movements done by your body, your mind finds stillness. Through all of this, you feel alive!
When Numi is in the club, she really feels the music. She’s able to ground into her body and connect to the music on a transcendent level. It’s like her body absorbs the vibrations and the energy from the DJ and their music. Her mind shuts off and her muscles, bones, and cells have their own way with it. When you see her move, you might think she’s out to get something. But Numi doesn’t dance for attention. She dances for her own liberation. Because when she dances, an inner fire starts to burn. A fire that helps her overcome all of her negative beliefs and turn them into dreams of a more delicious and loving life. For Numi, the dance floor is a sacred space. A space where she steps into her own power and gets a taste of her True Self.
